We can have the best stamina, the Hercules-like strength and agility like a fully developed Raichu. But, if our nutrition isn't up the par, then those things are moot.

Eating healthy, good food is a vital part of weight-training and weight-loss. So, here are a 5 things to ensure your meal preparation goes smoothly.
1. Use a good container.
Japanese bento are my favorite. They are playful, colorful and lively. I got this container at a Japanese Discount store called Daiso Japan. For containers like these, I love to store black rice, dipping sauces or even berries.

Those main-stream meal prep containers like shown here are also great because they display the food. Being able to see your food is like tantalizing fore-play for your hunger. I bought mine from Grocery Outlet but you can find them on Amazon.com.

2. Presentation counts.
We eat with our eyes first so grill marks, foods bright with color and neatness matters. Take extra time to make your food look beautiful. The more appealing it looks, the more likely you'll be excited to chow down.

3. Protein. Veggies. Fruit. Whole Grains.
Here are some examples of each category
a. Protein = roasted chicken breast, grilled salmon, marinated beef flank, stir-fried ground turkey, pan-seared tofu
b. Veggies = brusselsprouts, yellow squash, zucchini, purple cauliflower, broccoli
c. Fruit = watermelon, black/blue berries, raspberries, strawberries, bananas, mangoes
d. Whole grains = Quinoa (technically an edible seed), black rice, brown rice, Madagascar pink rice,
4. THE KEY TO THE MADNESS
Take one item from each category and mix and match. It's pretty simple once you can figure out which items you'd like to eat from each category.
The meal below for instance is grilled chicken, brusselsprouts, blueberries and strawberries and black rice (not shown).

5. Reach for them.
As tempted as you may be to order out or eat something else, just remember that you moment you open this bad boy up, you'll be golden because your hunger will be satisfied.
Meal preparation can be highly effective for your goals if done correctly. I'm still learning as I go but I'm sure I'll be back on this in the future as I actively collect more knowledge.
Have fun in the kitchen!
